Learn about NESI's mission, expertise, and commitment to advancing electrochemical solutions through innovation, collaboration, and industry leadership.

Who we are

Who we are

NORAM Electrolysis Systems Inc. (NESI) provides electrochemical process solutions that combat climate change, waste generation, and pollution in industrial chemical production. Its flagship offering is the NORSCAND® electrolyser platform, a modular membrane-based electrochemical technology. NESI combines electrochemical engineering expertise with patented membrane electrolysis systems to support cleaner, more sustainable chemical production. NESI’s insistence on scalability, modularity, and sustainability positions it as an industry leader in salt splitting electrochemistry.

NESI is a privately held Vancouver‑based company. Originally part of NORAM Engineering & Constructors Ltd., NESI was spun out as a standalone entity in late 2022 focused exclusively on electrochemical industrial solutions. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of NORAM Industrial Holdings Inc., NESI leverages the broader NORAM Group’s engineering, fabrication, and process design capabilities to scale electrochemical technology commercialization across multiple sectors.

NESI offers a range of services, from process development and pilot plant design to full-scale plant design and commissioning . NESI also collaborates with sister companies within the NORAM Group, including BC Research Inc., where we operate a commercial-scale pilot plant, and Axton Inc., which specializes in specialty electrochemical cell prototypes and modular demonstration plants. With decades of combined experience in industrial electrochemistry, including over 15 years of advancement in lithium technology, and a focus on the electrochemical splitting of lithium and sodium salts, we are committed to providing our clients with complete process solutions.
